The Pensacola Pelicans got a big-game effort out of CF Andrew Revall to prevail in the 11th over Shreveport. Revall, who had homered earlier in the game, singled to left field in the 11th to bring home the eventual winning run which earlier had struck out and reached on a wild pitch. Revall finished the game 3-for-3 with the home run and three RBI. Pelicans starter Colin Young pitched seven shutout innings in which he allowed six hits, did not walk a batter and struck out five, but did not factor in the decision. Instead, it was reliever Carl Scheafer who notched the victory, his seventh of the year. Shreveport C Tommy Bryant had a good night at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in the losing effort.

El Paso 8, Coastal Bend 4 (12 innings)

@ Robstown, TX. Time: 4:05 Attendance: 1,517

W: Dustin Cameron (4-2) L: Miguel Martinez (2-3) S: None

HR: EP-Jorge Alvarez (8), Walter Olmstead (11)

The El Paso Diablos were finally able to break through in the top of the 12th inning giving them an 8-4 victory and securing a playoff spot for the South Division-leading Fort Worth Cats. Coming up with a big hit was a problem that plagued Coastal Bend all night, as they left 14 runners stranded, including the winning run on third in the bottom of the 11th. El Paso 2B Jorge Alvarez effectively put the game out of reach in the 12th after the Diablos had already captured the lead. Alvarez hit a deep, two-run home run to put the nail in the coffin. The win for El Paso moves them to within 1 ½ games of first place Fort Worth in the South Division.
