The Eastern Conference rivalry match, set to kick off at 2 p.m. CT, will be nationally broadcast on UniMas and locally televised on KMCI's 38 the Spot. Heading into this weekend's match, Sporting Kansas City sits atop the Eastern Conference with 17 points (5-3-2). The Chicago Fire, currently in the bottom tier of the Eastern Conference, have lost the fewest games this season amongst Eastern Conference clubs. The only MLS team with fewer losses than the Fire in 2014 is the undefeated, 2013 MLS Cup runner-up Real Salt Lake.

Chicago secured their first victory of the regular season last weekend, a 5-4 victory against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena. Homegrown rookie Harry Shipp scored three goals and added one assist in the outing, leading the visitors to the impressive road result against the 2013 Supporters' Shield winners.

Conversly, Sporting KC dropped a 2-1 decision against the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday that snapped an 11-game unbeaten streak at home dating back to 2013. Union midfielder Danny Cruz put Philadelphia on the board first. Sporting KC's Dom Dwyer leveled the scoresheet nine minutes after entering the match as a second half substitute, however Cristian Maidana answered with the Union's game-winning goal one minute later to lead Philadelphia to their first road victory on the year.

Sporting KC's Matt Besler and Graham Zusi will not be available for Sunday's match as both player's joined the U.S. Men's National Team on Thursday for training camp in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup this summer. Sporting KC will also be without Lawrence Olum who was named to the Kenyan Men's National Team ahead of two qualifying matches for the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

Sunday's match can be followed online at SportingKC.com/GameOn and via Twitter at @SKCGameday. Immediately following the match, Sports Radio 810 WHB will carry The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show with hosts Andy Edwards and Dave Borchardt taking calls at 913-3-810-810.
