New York Red Bulls Look to Go Back to Winning Ways in Toronto Tomorrow

HARRISON, NJ (May 16, 2014) - The New York Red Bulls will look to extend their current unbeaten road streak to three games and move to the top of the Eastern Conference when they play Toronto FC on Saturday at BMO Field at 4:30 PM. The match will be televised live on MSG+ with coverage starting at 4:00 PM.

New York is coming off a 5-4 home defeat at the hands of the Chicago Fire at Red Bull Arena last Saturday. For New York, it was their first home loss of the season and first since June 1st of last year. Forward Bradley Wright-Phillips continued his torrid scoring streak, as he recorded his second hat trick of the season to push himself atop the MLS Golden Boot standings with nine goals. Wright-Phillips has now scored eight goals in his last four games.

Currently, New York is on a two game unbeaten road run (1-0-1) and enters the week in a three-way tie for third place in the Eastern Conference with 14 points (3-3-5 record), three behind leaders New England and Sporting Kansas City.

Saturday's match is the first of three meetings between New York and Toronto this season. In their previous MLS match, Toronto (3-4-0, 9 pts.) lost at home, 2-1, against the New England Revolution at BMO Field on May 3 and is currently tied for eighth place in the Eastern Conference with the Chicago Fire on nine points. The Reds are on a three game losing streak including two straight home losses.
