Spokane Defeats Everett, 3-0

Spokane, WA - Led by an 18 save shutout performance by Mac Engel, the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Everett Silvertips 3-0 Wednesday night at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Kent Simpson, in a strong performance, made 45 saves for the Silvertips. Matt Marantz, Jared Cowen and Levko Koper scored for the Chiefs.

After a scoreless first period, Spokane's Marantz scored his 14th goal of the season at 4:56 of the second period. 47 seconds later, on the man advantage, Cowen scored his 13th of the year to give Spokane a 2-0 lead after the end of the period.

Koper finished the scoring with an empty net goal at 18:45 of the third period concluding a 3-0 Spokane victory.

This brings the 'Tips record to 18-23-3-4 with 43 points in 48 games played. Everett comes back home on Friday night for a 7:35 pm start against the Seattle Thunderbirds!
