The Regina Pats will take on their Highway One rivals, the Warriors this weekend
Friday, January 28th Pats @ Warriors Moose Jaw Civic Centre 7pm
Saturday, January 29th Warriors @ Pats Brandt Centre 7pm
This will be the fourth and fifth time this season that the Pats and Warriors will heat up the Trans-Canada Highway. The Warriors have had their way for the most part over the past season and a half with the Pats winning just a single game, back on January 29th, 2010. The Warriors are currently in a fight with Medicine Hat and Kootenay for home ice in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
The faces of the Moose Jaw Warriors:
LW - Quinton Howden
The leading goal scorer for the Moose Jaw Warriors was a standout with Canada's Junior Team at the recent World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo. Howden is a 1st round pick, 25th overall of the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
LW - Antonin Honejsek
The 19 year old forward played for the Czech Republic at the recent World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo. He scored a goal against Canada in the Czech's 7-2 loss. He is tied for second on the Warriors in goals with 21.
RW - Dylan Hood
The 20 year old forward is in his 5th WHL season and is tops on the club in scoring and assists. He was acquired at the 2009 WHL trade deadline from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for Ryley Grantham and a 5th round 2011 WHL Bantam draft pick

Warriors have four players with 20 or more goals (Howden, Hood, Honejsek, Edwards) and another on the cusp of 20 in Sebastian Svendson.

The Warriors are 10-4 since the Christmas break.
The Pats Story:
The blue and white are have climbed to within 2 points of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They are also just 6 points out of 6th in the very tight conference race for the final three playoff spots. They are currently 6-3-1-0 over their past 10 games with points in three of the Pats last 4 games. Only 9 of the final 24 games of the season will be played at home.
C - Jordan Weal
Is on a 4 game point streak (3g, 5a) and is now back in the top 10 in the WHL scoring race. Is also on pace to break 90 points for the second straight year. He is only 18 points away from cracking the Pats top-20 all-time point leaders. Tied for 15th on the all-time Pats assist list with Darren Veitch (76-80)
RW - Garrett Mitchell
The Pats captain is on a 3 game goal scoring streak and has tied his career high for goals assists and points. Is five games away from tying Josh Holden and Gerad Adams for 19th on the Pats all-time games played list.
C - Colin Reddin
The 20 year old veteran is currently with Garrett Mitchell for 4th in team scoring and will surpass career highs in all offensive categories.
The Pats will head on the road for 4 of their next five games beginning with Wednesday date with Brayden Schenn and the Saskatoon Blades and Friday with Scott Glennie and the Brandon Wheat Kings.
