
Spitfires Comeback and Win 5-3 over the Soo

The Spitfires got down in the first but came back for a big 2 point win in the standings.
In the first period, the Spitfires went down 2-0 just 12:10 into the game. However, a 4 minute powerplay for the Spitfires changed the momentum. First was Wyatt Johnston walked into the slot and sniped his 39th on the season. Assists went to Perrott and Henault. Just 43 seconds later, Cuylle in the slot scored his 36th of the season from Zito and Henault. The Spitfires led in shots 11-5 after the first.
In the second period, the Soo scored to make it 3-2 just halfway through the period. Just two minutes later, the Spitfires tied it at 3. Johnston won the directly to Cuylle and he sniped his 37th on the season and 2nd on the night. The Spitfires led in shots 21-12 after 2 periods.
In the third period, the Spitfires got on the board early. Just 1:35 in, D'Amico unleashed a slapshot that found the back of the net. Abraham and Ribau had assists on the goal and the Spitfires had their first lead. The Spitfires had a challenging 3rd having to kill off multiple penalties but they got the job done. Late in the period Cuylle scored his hat-trick goal on the empty net and sealed the 5-3 victory.
The Spitfires are back in action tomorrow vs the Soo, puck drop is scheduled for 2:00pm.
