Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit (14-7-0-1) invite their West Division rival Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (15-7-2-0) to the Dow Event Center on Wednesday, November 29th. Saginaw looks to continue its ten-game winning streak and continue their ascent in the OHL's Western Conference. Both Saginaw (#8) and the Soo (#9) were ranked in the CHL's Top Ten yesterday afternoon.

The Saginaw Spirit defeated the Niagara IceDogs at home on Sunday, November 26th, by a score of 6-2. Matyas Sapovaliv netted his first hat trick of the regular season and added an assist for a four-point night ahead of being named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week. Hunter Haight added three points (1G, 2A), and Andrew Oke stopped 29 of 31 shots for his seventh win in a row.
The Soo Greyhounds knocked off the Mississauga Steelheads on the road on Sunday, November 26th, by a 5-2 scoreline. Jordan D'Intino scored a powerplay goal and a shorthanded assist, with Andrew Gibson and Travis Hayes adding two assists of their own. Owen Allard and Marco Mignosa added powerplay goals, with Alex Kostov scoring his first of the year shorthanded. Charlie Schenkel started between the pipes for the Greyhounds, stopping 24 of 26.

Saginaw and Sault Ste. Marie last faced off on Friday, October 27th, when the Greyhounds won 5-4 in the shootout. Michael Misa opened the scoring in the first, but the Greyhounds scored four unanswered goals. Saginaw crawled back, with Misa scoring the game-tying goal with six seconds remaining in the third period. Brenden Sirizzotti scored the lone goal in the shootout, cementing the win for the Greyhounds. Nolan Lalonde manned the crease for the Spirit, saving 22 of 26, while Charlie Schenkel finished off the win by saving 20 of 24.

Michael Misa (12G, 17A) and Hunter Haight (9G, 20A) currently have 29 points and are tied for the team lead. Misa leads the Spirit in goals (12), with Matayas Sapovaliv (11)a goal behind him after having ten points (4G, 7A) in the last three games. Zayne Parekh has 20 assists, with 10 coming on the powerplay, tying him for fourth in OHL power play assists (PPA). Rodwin Dionicio has provided five points (3G, 2A) in five games since being acquired with Alex Christopoulos on November 16th. Andrew Oke been on a tear, winning seven starts in a row. He enters with a .910 save percentage (SV%), tying him for fifth in the OHL, 2.55 goals against average, slotting him third in the OHL, and 10 wins, tying him for fifth in the OHL.
Jack Beck currently leads the Greyhounds in points with 28 (8G, 20A), with Arttu Karki not far behind at 26, including a team-leading 15 goals. 10 of Karki's 15 goals are powerplay markers, tying him for first in the league. Travis Hayes is fourth among rookie point-getters, collecting seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. Marco Mignosa is currently on a five-game goal streak with Bryce McConnell-Barker's 11 game points streak being snapped on November 24th. Charlie Schenkel leads all major Greyhound goaltending categories leading with a 3.21 GAA, .877 SV%, and 10 wins.
