Spirit Squeeze Out A Win

Lynn, MA – The North Shore Spirit held on for a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Jackals on Tuesday night at the New Fraser Field.

Ben Knapp pitched 8 1/3 innings of two-run baseball to pick up his second victory of the year. Knapp walked one and struckout four. Carlos Figueroa picked up the loss in relief for the Jackals.

New Jersey opened the scoring with single runs in the first and second. North Shore would battle back in the third. After Nilson Teilon singled, Vic Davilla launched a 2-1 pitch deep over the fence in right for his seventh homerun of the season.

The score stayed that way until the seventh. Yuri Sanchez walked with one out and scored the game-winning run when Marcos Agramonte doubled into the leftfield corner. Ryan Biocondoa got out of trouble in the ninth to pick up his fifth save of the season.

Righty Aaron Dean (1-1) will pitch for the Spirit on Wednesday night and will face New Jersey's Mike Perkins (1-1). Wednesday's game begins at 7:05 pm, gates open at 5:30 pm.
