Saginaw, Michigan - The Saginaw Spirit host the Flint Firebirds Saturday night at 7:00 p.m, for the last preseason game before the start of the 2018-19 regular season. The Spirit are looking to continue their winning ways, with victories in four straight exhibition games.
Friday night, the Spirit played the first game of a home-and-home series against the Firebirds at the Flint Iceland Arenas, winning 6-4. Saginaw scored four unanswered goals from Danny Katic, Camaryn Baber, Nicholas Porco, and D.J. Busdeker in 27:52 of play to battle back. Big contributions came from the 2018 first round OHL Priority selection Cole Perfetti with three assists. Busdeker and Albert Michnac both scored a goal and an assist.
Spirit goaltender Cameron Lamour finished the game allowing no goals after entering the game midway through the second period. In three preseason games, Lamour has allowed just one goal and has a save percentage of .974. to lead the entire OHL in goaltending statistics.
Saginaw is looking to continue a strong preseason heading into next week's season opener at home against reigning West Division Champion, Soo Greyhounds.
