Spirit Fall to Oshawa 3-2 in Shootout

The fun continued Saturday night at The Dow Event Center as Pride Ice-Blast continued on Credit Union night! Later the Spirit fell to Oshawa by a score of 3-2 in a shootout.

2:43 in the first period, Oshawa's Scott Laughton would score first. Sebastian Uvira would assist Laughton's goal. The remaining of the period would carry on to be an even match amongst the two teams. Oshawa would remain one goal ahead of the Spirit heading into the second period.

Brad Walch would get the Spirit onto the scoreboard at the 18:45 mark with a slapshot to notch his fourth goal of the season. Eric Locke and Carlos Amestoy would assist Walch's goal which would tie the game at 1-1. The score would remain tied heading into the third period.

3:44 in the third period, Oshawa's Lucas Lessio would score a short-handed goal on Saginaw goalie Clint Windsor to regain the lead 2-1. Nicklas Jensen would assist Lessio's goal. 11:52 in the period, Eric Locke would hang around the net and land himself a goal to once again tie the game 2-2. Vincent Trocheck would assist Locke's tying goal.

The score would remain tied 2-2 at the end of the third to take the teams into overtime. There was no scoring in the overtime period, and the game would go to a shootout. Oshawa would score the lone goal of the shootout, winning 3-2 over the Spirit.
