
Spirit Face Storm in OHL Playoffs, Starting with March 21 Home Game

(Saginaw, MI) The third place Saginaw Spirit begin the 2009 post season with a first round match-up against the sixth place Guelph Storm, starting with game one on Saturday, March 21 at TheDow Event Center (7:11 PM). This marks the second time in the team's four year playoff history that the Spirit have faced the Storm in the playoffs. Saginaw lost in four games to Guelph in their 2006 first round match-up.
In addition to Saturday, March 21, the Spirit will host the Storm for game three on Tuesday, March 24. If necessary, game five will be played in Saginaw on Saturday, March 28 and game seven will be played at home on Tuesday, March 31. All Spirit home games will be played at TheDow Event Center, starting at 7:11 PM.
"We are thrilled to enter our fourth consecutive playoff season and are excited to play in what will be a competitive series between the Spirit and Guelph Storm," stated Spirit President and Partner Craig Goslin, "The support our fans have showed us throughout the season have helped the team secure third seed and home ice, and with it up to two Saturday home games in the first round. This provides a great opportunity for fans to come out and support the team."
The following is a complete schedule of games for the Spirit and Storm first round match-up. The OHL playoffs are conducted in a best-of-seven series over four rounds.
Game 1: Saturday, March 21 7:11 PM at Saginaw Game 2: Sunday, March 22 7:00 PM at Guelph Game 3: Tuesday, March 24 7:11 PM at Saginaw Game 4: Thursday, March 26 7:00 PM at Guelph Game 5: Saturday, March 28 7:11 PM at Saginaw (If Necessary) Game 6: Sunday, March 29 7:00 PM at Guelph (If Necessary) Game 7: Tuesday, March 31 7:11 PM at Saginaw (If Necessary)
