The Attack took the lead early in the game Monday afternoon, scoring just 1:26 into the game with a goal from Artur Garvus, his first of three goals in the contest. Then at the 10:47 mark, Daniel Catenacci scored as he left the penalty box to make the score 2-0. Less than a minute later, Garvus added his second of the game on the power play. The Spirit fought back however, with goals from Peter Hermenegildo and Michael Fine to get the score back within one, 3-2. Owen Sound would add another goal in the closing minutes of the first frame by Gemel Smith to make it 4-2 heading into the first intermission.
Matt Petgrave opened the scoring in the second period for the Attack, scoring on the power play to make the score 5-2 a little under half way through the period. The Spirit would answer to get the score back within two as Justin Kea netted his first of the season off a pass from Ryan Tuffin. That was as close as the Spirit would get however as Artur Garvus would net his third goal of the game in the third period to make the score 6-3.
