Erie Otters News Release

Evan Cormier was solid between the pipes for the Saginaw Spirit with 28 saves to help his squad edged out the Erie Otters 3-1.

A minute into the duel Artem Artemov snuck a puck short side past Devin Williams to take the first lead of the game. With just over two minutes remaining in the first period Alex DeBrincat set up Vanya Lodnia to level the game at one.

The Spirit busted the deadlock 12 minutes into the second stanza when Hayden Hodgson tipped a pass by Jesse Barwell into the Otters net. Hodgson's goal proved to be the game winner as the Otters could not find twine in the final period. Kris Bennett sealed the 3-1 win for the Spirit with an empty net tally.

The Otters are back at it on Sunday for a home tilt against the Kitchener Rangers at 5:00 p.m.
