
Spirit blank Otters

Erie Otters News Release
SAGINAW, MI - Tom Pyatt scored three times and added two assists to lead the Saginaw Spirit to a 9-0 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,809 at The Dow Event Center. Ryan O'Marra, Ryan Berard, Tomas Zaborsky, Chris Chappell, Tom Craig and Jan Mursak scored the other Saginaw goals. Ryan McDonough collected four assists. Ryan Daniels made 30 saves for the shutout. The Spirit led 1-0 after one and 5-0 heading into the third. The loss dropped the Otters to 13-36-1-2 on the season while the Spirit improved to 30-19-0-2. The Spirit out shot the Otters 44-30 in the game as Kevin Beech took the loss. The three stars of the game were all from the Spirit. Daniels was the first, Pyatt the second and McDonough the third.
The Otters return to action Friday night when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers in a 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on True Oldies 1330 and on line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m. The next Otters home game takes place Saturday (February 10th) when the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds visit the Tullio Arena in a 7:30 p.m. start presented by McDonald's and WSEE. Sunday (February 11th) the Otters welcome the London Knights to the Tullio Arena in a special 6 p.m. start presented by the Bel-Aire Hotel and Conference Center.
