Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MA - Going into the bottom of the ninth inning, there was no score. With the bases loaded, Xavier Legrant unloaded on a Calvin Coker fastball and drove it to the left-center gap.

Wil Dalton scored from third base and giving the Lowell Spinners (14-4), proud affiliate of the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox, a slim 1-0 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters (8-11), affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.

Yasel Santana was strong on the mound once again, throwing six shutout innings, scattering three hits with seven strikeouts. Not only that, but did he not walk a batter. Santana, however, would finish with a no-decision - leaving the game without a score.

Hildemaro Requena was the first and only one out of the bullpen for Lowell and got credit for the win. He too went a strong three innings, allowing just one hit while striking out two and walking just the one.

On the other side of the ball, Lake Monsters starter Hogan Harris got off to a strong start and had a perfect game through the first three innings. Although, Kervin Suarez broke up the perfecto in the top of the fourth with an infield single to short.

The Lowell Spinners, proud affiliate of the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox, offer Season Ticket Packages, Mini-Plans, Group Sales, and Single Game Tickets.
