AUBURN, N.Y. - A four-run third inning and Eli Kraus's five shutout innings on the mound helped propel the State College Spikes to a big lead, and they held on to top the Auburn Doubledays, 9-3, on Sunday afternoon at Falcon Park for their ninth consecutive victory on the road.

The Spikes (26-30) extended their club record road win streak with the victory.

Kraus (1-1) allowed just one hit, which did not occur until the fourth inning, one walk and two hit batsmen for his first professional win. The 2018 24th-round draft choice out of Kent State recorded two strikeouts in the effort as well.

New York-Penn League All-Star Nick Dunn doubled in a pair of runs to start the Spikes' big third, one of his two doubles in the game. Brady Whalen followed with an RBI double of his own, and Lars Nootbaar's run-scoring single completed the State College surge.

Stanley Espinal bookended the Spikes' scoring with an RBI single to left in the first and a two-run smash to left for his fourth home run of the season in the ninth.

Juastin Toerner and Walker Robbins each produced three-hit games for State College, while Wadye Ynfante knocked in two runs.

Doubledays starter Reid Schaller (1-1), the Nationals' 2018 third-round draft choice out of Vanderbilt, took the loss. Schaller yielded five runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out three over 2 2/3 innings.
