Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Crosscutters struck out 14 times in their 2-1 loss to the Batavia Muckdogs, spitting the two-game series.
Danny Mayer provided the offense for the Crosscutters, finishing the night 3 for 4 with his 4th home run of the season, a 417 foot shot over the left field wall and off the BB&T Ballpark sign. Mayer also struck a double in the 9th, tying to spark a late inning rally. It was Mayer s fourth, three-hit game this season, tied for the team lead.
Ethan Lindow pitched well in the start, working five shutout innings, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out three. Tyler Carr allowed two runs, one earned over three innings, taking the loss.
Every Cutters starter struck out at least once. Williamsport finished the five-game homestand with a 1-4 record. The Cutters struck out 57 times in the homestand, while Cutters pitching recorded 53 strike outs, totaling 110 total strike outs in the 5 games.
