State College Spikes News Release
JAMESTOWN, NY -- Wednesday's scheduled game between the State College Spikes and the Jamestown Jammers at Russell Diethrick park in Jamestown has been postponed due to rain. The two teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games starting at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday. Pitching matchups for the two games are not yet determined.
The doubleheader is the second the Spikes will play during their six-game road trip, and their fifth twin bill of the year overall. State College split two games with the Batavia Muckdogs on Monday at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia. The Spikes also played a doubleheader against Jamestown in their last series, splitting a pair of games at Diethrick Park on July 30.
After finishing off their road trip tomorrow, the Spikes will return home on Friday, August 28, to start their final home series of the season against the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies). It will be a 4 for $44 Friday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, with four Diamond Club seats, four hot dogs and four small sodas available for just $44. Also, fans can enjoy a spectacular post-game fireworks display, presented by the flagship radio home of the Spikes, 95.3-3WZ.
In addition, fans can support their favorite major league sports franchise in the Keystone State with Pennsylvania Sports Rivalry Night, and experience both Stone Broke College Student and Mixed Martial Arts Night at the ballpark. Those stone broke college students in Central Pennsylvania can also take advantage of the College Student 3-2-1 Special, and kids can run the bases after the game.
Fans can also experience a special 1 p.m. start on Saturday, when the Spikes take on the Crosscutters in the second game of their three-game series. Gates will open up at 11:30 a.m. for the Team Autograph Session on a Scratch 'n Win Saturday at the park, with the first 1,500 fans through the gates getting a Spikes Fleece Blanket, presented by the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau.
For ticket information, visit the Spikes Box Office at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, call the Spikes toll-free at (877) 99-SPIKES, or log on to StateCollegeSpikes.com.
