Everett AquaSox News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The AquaSox remained undefeated at home by defeating the Spokane Indians 6-3 in the first game of the doubleheader to clinch the series victory. The Frogs (6-2) put together back-to-back innings of three runs to earn the win in seven innings.

Sox starter Dylan Unsworth (1-0, 3.00 ERA) pitched well in his six innings of work to earn his first win on the young season, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three. The right-hander from South Africa breezed through the first five innings, giving up just three hits. The Tribe (1-7) finally got to Unsworth in the sixth inning, stringing together back-to-back home runs by Preston Beck and Royce Bolinger.

Oliver Garcia came in to pitch the seventh and final inning for the Frogs, striking out the final two batters of the game to earn his second save of the year.

Spokane starter David Perez (1-1, 6.00 ERA) was wild in three innings pitched, allowing three runs on three hits while allowing four walks and striking out three to earn his first loss on the year. The 19-year-old from the Dominican Republic allowed three walks in the first, but was able to get out of the inning unscathed.

The Sox were able to get to Perez in the third inning, putting up three runs with the help of two wild pitches by the right-hander and a throwing error by first baseman Ryan Rua.

Four hits in the fourth inning off reliever Connor Sadzeck plated three more Frogs, giving Everett a 6-0 lead. Spokane's home runs in the top of the sixth narrowed Everett's lead to 6-3, but it wasn't enough to end the Tribe's losing streak - extending it to five games.

The second game of the doubleheader features Seon Gi Kim on the mound for the Sox, and Connor Sadzeck for the Indians after pitching one inning in the first game.
