
Southpaw Kelvin Villa Returns to Skeeters

SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters and manager Gary Gaetti announced the signing of left-handed pitcher, Kelvin Villa prior to Thursday night's contest on the road with Lancaster. Villa played with Sugar Land in 2012.
Villa, 29, enters his 12th-season of professional baseball and returns to the Houston suburb after pitching in the Dominican Winter League this past offseason. He holds a 53-80 career record with a 4.77 ERA after being signed by the Braves in 2004. Villa climbed as high as Double-A with Atlanta before moving to the Royals organization in 2009-10. After spending time with Kansas City, Villa transitioned to the Atlantic League, coming to Sugar Land in 2012. He posted a 4-8 record in 28 games and 11 starts with the Skeeters with a 5.45 ERA.
The Skeeters continue the 2015 campaign against Lancsater on the road tonight. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. (CT).
