South Carolina's Daubenspeck Named Sun National Bank ECHL Saver of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Kirk Daubenspeck of the South Carolina Stingrays is the Sun National Bank East Coast Hockey League Saver of the Month for October.

Daubenspeck went 6-0-0 with a 2.72 goals against average and a .913 save percentage while helping the Stingrays to a 6-0-0 start and first place in the Southeast Division. The 6-0-0 start is the best ever in the team's 10-year history. He finished the month leading the league with three shootout wins and tied for the league lead with six wins.

He opened the month making 25 saves in a 5-4 shootout win at Pee Dee on October 11 and the following night made 27 saves in a 7-6 shootout win at defending Kelly Cup Champion Greenville. He made 25 saves in a 3-2 shootout win against Columbia on October 19.

Daubenspeck earned ECHL Goalie of the Week honors on October 28 after going 3-0-0 while lowering his goals against average to 2.72 and raising his save percentage to .913. He made 28 saves in a 4-2 win against Greenville on October 22 and had 31 saves in a 5-1 win over Augusta on October 25. He closed out the month making 43 saves in a 4-2 win against Roanoke on October 26 while playing every minute in net for South Carolina.

Runners-up: Patrick Couture, Columbia (6-2-0, 2.80 GAA, .908 save pct.), Greg Gardner, Mississippi (6-2-0, 2.73 GAA, .917 save pct.) and Brian Finley, Toledo (4-0-0, 1.81 GAA, .938 save pct.)
