Former Express All-Star Fiddler Makes NHL Debut With Nashville

Vern Fiddler made his National Hockey League debut with Nashville on Saturday and becomes the 197th former East Coast Hockey League player to play in the NHL. Fiddler had two shots and was even in the Predators 6-5 loss at Los Angeles. The 22-year-old Fiddler was selected to the ECHL All-Star Game and named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team in 2001-02. He scored 55 points (27g-28a) in 44 games with Roanoke in 2001-02 before being called up to Norfolk in the American Hockey League where he scored 13 points (8g-5a) in 38 games. He began his ECHL career in 2000-01 with Arkansas recording an assist in three regular season games and scoring four points (1g-3a) in four games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. He opened the 2002-03 season with Milwaukee in the AHL scoring six points (0g-6a) in six games.
