NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- Starter Dave Williams threw seven scoreless innings and John Barnes slugged a three-run homer as the Nashville Sounds blanked the New Orleans Zephyrs, 5-0 on Thursday Night in Nashville.

Williams (7-4), who also knocked in a run in the sixth inning, allowed six hits, struck out two and walked one to improve to 5-1 at home. Barnes followed a walk and a single with a one-out blast in the bottom of the third inning, his 13th of the year for Nashville, which improved to 11-5 vs. New Orleans.

Pete Munro (0-4) gave up five runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out five and walking three in a losing effort as the Zephyrs fell for the 15th time in 20 games. Eric Bruntlett and Royce Huffman each had two hits in the losing effort.

The Zephyrs open their final home stand of the season on Friday against the Memphis Redbirds at 7:05 P.M. Friday is Coke and Bohn Brothers Toyota Free Car Friday with one lucky fan driving away with a car. Friday is also Cox Communications Night. Fans can bring in their Cox Cable bill to the box office and receive a $5.00 ticket to the game (maximum of four). Tunes Car Stereo and Kenwood USA Night will also take place with the first 1,000 Adults receiving a Kenwood USA T-Shirt. 6x9 Speakers will be given away during the game. The Night will be capped off with a Post Game Fireworks extravaganza. Bob Scanlan (1-8, 3.86) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Josh Pearce (2-3, 4.81) for the Redbirds.
