Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK, Texas â The San Antonio Missions have run through the Texas League this year, but Friday night, the Round Rock Express gave them a partial dose of their own medicine. The Express beat up on four San Antonio pitchers and Tim McClaskey ended his stint in the Round Rock rotation the same way he started it in a 9-4 win in front of 10,211 at The Dell Diamond.
Friday's attendance pushed Round Rock's season mark to 666,787, only 3,389 behind the all-time Double-A attendance number of 670,176, set by the Express last year.
Round Rock also gave the 10,211 fans a show on the field, exploding for 11 hits. Mike Coolbaugh went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBI and Anthony Acevedo launched his 11th home run of the season in the third inning to give the Express a lead they would never lose.
That was all McClaskey would need as he ended his season with an outing similar to his first start on July 10. He gave up a run on four hits against the Missions that day and allowed two runs on six hits in seven innings Friday night to move his record to 5-4.
Chris Burke went 2 for 4 to raise his average to .303. He went into the game in fifth place in the Texas League's batting title race.
Brian Strelitz (0-2), the first of four San Antonio pitchers, took the loss after giving up three runs in three innings.
The third game of the four-game series will be Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
