Sounds, Purity Team Up To Give Local Charities The Spotlight
May 18, 2007 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE - The Nashville Sounds and Purity Dairies have partnered to recognize a local charity at every home game during the 2007 season. Through their combined efforts, one area charity will have the opportunity to be present at each home game and provide Sounds fans with information on their cause.
"Purity is proud to support this unique program that provides area charitable organizations with the opportunity to promote their cause in front of the great crowds at the Nashville Sounds games," says Mark Ezell, president of Purity Dairies.
During each home game, the selected charity will be able to set up a table on the main concourse with promotional literature and information about their purpose. There will be representatives of the charity at the game to collect donations and answer any questions fans might have.
"It is wonderful to have a great partnership with an organization like Purity that makes such an effort to support the community that they call home," says Brandon Vonderharr, Nashville Sounds Director of Marketing and Promotions.
Before the game, each charity will choose a representative to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The charity will also be recognized over the public address system before each game and twice during the game. Their name will also appear on the famous guitar scoreboard during pre-game ceremonies.
"Over the course of the season, we will give dozens of local charities the opportunity to make their cause known to our fans," says Vonderharr. "We are hoping our combined efforts will make a big impact on the Nashville community."
If you know of an organization that would like to be featured as the Purity Charity of the Game, please contact Amy Alder with the Nashville Sounds Community Relations Department at (615) 242-4371 ext. 154 or via e-mail at amyalder@nashvillesounds.com.
