
Sounds Cruise to 13-2 Win over RedHawks

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Taylor Green was four-for-four with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored as the Nashville Sounds (52-54) scored in each of the first eight innings for a 13-2 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (47-59) before 6,906 Thursday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.
Nashville starter Frankie De La Cruz (5-6) allowed one unearned run with six hits over six innings with two walks and six strikeouts in the winning decision. RedHawks starter Nelson Figueroa (6-6) allowed 10 runs, nine earned, on 12 hits over five innings in the losing decision.
The Sounds scored three first inning runs with a Green RBI single, Edwin Maysonet two-out bunt single and a two-out error bringing in runs for a 3-0 score. Green moved Nashville ahead 5-0 in the second inning with a two-out, two-run home run off Figueroa.
In the third inning, Logan Schafer singled in Maysonet with two out for a 6-0 score. The RedHawks got on the board with an unearned run in the bottom of the third inning, when Nelson Figueroa scored on an error by Maysonet at shortstop for a 6-1 game.
Nashville added two runs in the fourth inning on a Green two-run double for an 8-1 advantage. In the fifth inning Green belted his second two-run home run of the game, opening a 10-1 score.
The Sounds added single runs with a sixth inning Logan Schafer RBI single, a seventh inning Caleb Gindl groundout RBI and an eighth inning Green RBI single.
Oklahoma City salvaged a run in the seventh inning when Drew Locke delivered a pinch-hit single against reliever Donovan Hand.
