
Sounders FC Roster Update from Preseason Camp in Tucson

SEATTLE, WASH. - With Sounders FC's 2022 preseason continuing this week from Tucson, Arizona, the club prepares for its first preseason match tomorrow, January 26, against Cascadia rival Portland Timbers (6:00 p.m. PT). The match is being played at Kino Sports Complex, where the Rave Green are holding camp until Tuesday, February 1. Sounders FC plays a second preseason match on February 1 vs. the Colorado Rapids before returning to Seattle.
Head Coach Brian Schmetzer is taking part in a Q&A session this evening at 6:00 p.m. PT hosted by Visit Tucson, alongside the other three MLS head coaches participating in the Desert Showcase: Robin Fraser (Colorado Rapids), Pablo Mastroeni (Real Salt Lake) and Giovanni Savarese (Portland Timbers). Sounders FC's roster sits at 28 players, including three goalkeepers, seven defenders, 12 midfielders and six forwards. The club currently has three Designated Players, seven International Players and seven Homegrown Players.
In addition to those currently signed to First Team contracts, Brian Schmetzer's preseason roster includes a number of 2021 Tacoma Defiance players, Sounders FC Academy players, unsigned SuperDraft picks and trialists.
