July 11, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - This Sunday, Sounders FC invites all soccer fans to the Seattle Center's Next 50 Plaza for Soccer Sunday, a free watch party doubleheader featuring the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final and Sounders FC at Atlanta United FC.
Soccer Sunday gives fans the opportunity to soak up a day of soccer, first taking in the excitement of France vs. Croatia in the FIFA World Cup Final at 8:00 a.m. PT before cheering on the Rave Green as they face Atlanta United FC on the road at 11:00 a.m. PT. Media wishing to attend are welcome, and should RSVP with Kelly Schutz of Sounders FC Communications (KellyS@SoundersFC.com).
Both matches will be shown on a giant outdoor screen, with food and beverage options available for purchase, including a charity beer garden where all proceeds benefit RAVE Foundation, thanks to donation of product by Anheuser-Busch. There is no charge for general admission to the watch party and a variety of entertainment is set to be on hand, including a live DJ, cornhole, performances by the Massive Monkees - a Seattle-based hip hop dance crew - and a number of prizes and giveaways.
For kids ages six and up, RAVE Foundation is hosting 3v3 pop-up soccer play on two courts, where aspiring soccer stars can practice their game and receive a United in Soccer t-shirt while supplies last. Younger children can play in the RAVE octagon, an eight-sided mini-court. For adults, bid on original Sounders in Russia artwork by Alexander Codd, with proceeds benefiting RAVE Foundation, and take the opportunity to donate to the One Ball program, providing a high-quality soccer ball to a child in an underserved Puget Sound community for just $10.
Additionally, there is still time for fans to enter to win the Soccer Sunday Cup Contest. The drawing, with winners announced at the Soccer Sunday event, offers one grand prize of a suite to a mutually agreed upon Sounders FC match this season, with one second-place prize of two Slalom Experience Pitchside Seats to the October 8 match, while five third-place winners will receive copies of the World Cup edition of Sounders Monthly autographed by Román Torres and Gustav Svensson. The contest runs through 11:59 p.m. PT this evening and fans can enter at www.SoundersFC.com/SoccerSunday. Winners must be present at the watch party to claim their prizes.
