
Sounders FC 2 Signs Forward Andy Craven

SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC 2 has signed forward Andy Craven, the club announced today. Craven was selected by Sounders FC in the Third Round (48th overall) in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Per club policy, terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
"It's great to have Andy finally signed with the team," said S2 Head Coach Ezra Hendrickson. "He is a very good finisher who can play both up top and on the wings. He is versatile and will be a great asset with S2 moving forward."
Craven, 23, most recently played with University of North Carolina, where he was a was tied for first in the country with 15 goals for the Tar Heels in 2014, including a nation-leading eight game-winners. In addition to being one of three finalists for the MAC Hermann trophy - given to the nation's best player - the Georgia native was a 2014 All-ACC First Team and NSCAA All-America First Team selection. Craven recorded 21 goals and 11 assists in two seasons at North Carolina after spending his first two collegiate seasons at College of Charleston.
"I couldn't be more excited to be here in Seattle. I'm looking forward to getting started," said Craven. "It has been really easy to play with the guys out here. The players are some of the best I have ever played with and it makes it easy to play and combine."
Craven and Hendrickson will be available to media following S2's training session today at Starfire Sports during the club's media access window, beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. PST.
