Sound Tigers sign Mathieu Aubin to PTO, Isles return Micheal Haley

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Jan. 2, 2012) - In a pair of separate transactions, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have signed forward Mathieu Aubin to a professional tryout contract (PTO). The Sound Tigers also received forward Micheal Haley who was returned on loan by the New York Islanders.

Aubin, 25, comes to Bridgeport from the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) where he's averaged over a point per game this season (26 points in 23 games). The Sorel, PQ native has won two Kelly Cup titles with Cincinnati and is second in the franchise's history in assists (101) in addition to 72 goals in 185 games with the Cyclones. The 6'3, 204-pound forward shows 11 goals and 13 assists in 72 career AHL games between Hamilton and Lake Erie. Aubin was originally a fifth round pick (130th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Haley rejoins the Sound Tigers after completing his second NHL stint this season, going scoreless in three games with the Isles. Haley has played in seven games with the Isles this season in addition to 19 games with the Sound Tigers. The Guelph, ON native shows two goals and two assists with Bridgeport this season and is expected to be in the lineup today against Worcester.
