Sound Tigers Sign Jackson to PTO

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (February 15, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have signed defenseman Dallas Jackson to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Jackson, 22, joins the Sound Tigers after appearing in 47 games with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL where he has recorded 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) and 59 penalty minutes. The Edson, AB native made his professional debut last season with the Reading Royals of the ECHL, notching two goals and seven assists in 30 games.

Prior to turning pro last season, the 6-2, 198-pound defenseman played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League, totaling 32 goals and 70 assists in 164 games split between Red Deer, Regina, Prince George and Kelowna.

The Sound Tigers conclude their six-game homestand this weekend with three straight home games beginning on Saturday, Feb. 18 vs. Adirondack, followed by afternoon contests on Sunday vs. Hershey at 3:00 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 20 vs. Albany at 1:00 p.m. For information on group outings or full and partial season ticket plans, call the Sound Tigers at (203) 345-2300 or e-mail info@soundtigers.com.
