Mohawk Valley Community Night presented by GoCal.co to benefit CNY Roller Derby

Syracuse, NY (February 15, 2012)- The Syracuse Crunch announced today details of Mohawk Valley Night presented by GoCal.co for the club's February 24 game against the Albany Devils.

Mohawk Valley Night presented by GoCal.co will serve as a fundraiser for the CNY Roller Derby which lost their practice facility to damages caused during a fire on February 9, 2012. The Crunch will donate a portion from each ticket sold within the Mohawk Valley for the Friday, February 24 home game vs. Albany to the CNY Roller Derby.

Tickets for the game will be available at a discounted price of $10 for residents within the Mohawk Valley. Tickets, which will be located on the stage, can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444 ext. 18 and using the codeword "Derby" or tickets by contacting a CNY Roller Derby representative prior to February 23. Portion of all tickets sold by the CNY Roller Derby or by use of the codeword will go toward assisting the program as it recovers from this disaster.

CNY Roller Derby is a women's flat track roller derby league that is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (www.wftda.com). They consist of three home teams, The Blue Collar Betties, the Rome Wreckers and the Utica Clubbers. CNY Roller Derby also competes against other leagues with the CNY All Stars travel team, made up of the best players of all three home teams.

The Crunch travel to Albany to face the Devils on February 15 and will return to the War Memorial on February 21 to take on the Worcester Sharks. Both season tickets and single game tickets for the 2011-2012 season can still be purchased either in person at the Crunch Box Office located at the War Memorial on 800 South State Street in Syracuse, or by calling the office at (315) 473- 4444.
