
Sound Tigers Sign Brooks to ATO

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced today that Spokane Chiefs forward Calder Brooks has been signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract.
Brooks, 20, recorded a career-high 58 points on 23 goals and 35 assists in 52 games (50 with Spokane) during his fourth full Western Hockey League season. The Emerald Park, Sask., native had three assists in a six-game, opening round playoff series for Spokane. He was acquired by the Chiefs in a trade with Prince Albert early in the 2014-15 regular season.
Prior to the 2014-15 season, the 6-foot Brooks played two and a half seasons with the Calgary Hitmen before being traded to Prince Albert midway through the 2013-14 season. Brooks amassed 124 points (48 goals, 76 assists) in 194 WHL games.
