Sound Tigers score early, often in 5-2 win over Hershey

Four first period goals followed by a second period lamp-lighter just 28 seconds into period two gave Bridgeport a 5-2 win Saturday night at GIANT Center.

Sean Bergenheim scored two goals in the first period to stake the Tigers to a 2-0 lead just 12 minutes into the game. Steve Regier and Matt Koalska would score before first intermission, followed by a Jeremy Colliton goal early in the second period. Bridgeport carried a 5-0 lead into the third, when the BEARS finally broke onto the scoreboard. Martin Wilde scored just his second goal of the season at the 1:52 mark of the third, and Jonas Johansson potted his fifth of the season at 4:59 to round out the scoring.

Goaltender Frederic Cassivi suffered his 12th loss of the season against an AHL best 23 wins. Goaltender Frederic Cloutier won his fifth game of the year in his first appearance against HERSHEY.

The BEARS face the Sound Tigers Wednesday night at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport before returning home to face Manchester and Chicago next weekend at GIANT Center. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
