
Sound Tigers Make a Trio of Moves

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today a trio of moves ahead of this weekend's games against the Hartford Wolf Pack and Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Defenseman Patrick Cullity has been recalled from loan to the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL), while goaltender Stephon Williams has been reassigned by the New York Islanders from Missouri. In addition, forward Tim Wallace has agreed to terms on a professional tryout (PTO).
Cullity, 30, has played 28 games with the Sound Tigers this season, recording three assists and 41 penalty minutes. He also made three appearances with Missouri (since last Friday) on a conditioning assignment.
A Boston native, Cullity has recorded 17 points (one goal, 16 assists) in 137 AHL games between the Sound Tigers, Syracuse Crunch, Abbotsford Heat, Springfield Falcons and St. John's IceCaps. He also boasts 87 points (14 goals, 73 assists) in 295 ECHL contests with the South Carolina Stingrays, Utah Grizzlies, Idaho Steelheads and Mavericks.
Prior to turning pro, the 6'2, 200-pound defenseman played four seasons at the University of Vermont, collecting 25 points (two goals, 23 assists) in 145 games with the Catamounts.
Williams, a second-year goaltender, has played 22 games with the Sound Tigers this season, going 6-13-0 with a 2.98 goals-against-average and .892 save percentage. The 23-year-old added one shutout on Dec. 3, 2016 against Binghamton with a career-high 37 saves. In Missouri, Williams went 3-4-0 with a 2.69 goals-against-average and .916 save percentage in eight appearances.
A native of Fairbanks, Alaska, Williams split his rookie campaign between Bridgeport and Missouri in 2015-16. He posted a 15-13-1 record in 29 games with the Sound Tigers along with a 2.77 goals-against-average and .899 save percentage. In addition, Williams notched a 2-3-2 record with a 2.91 goals-against-average and .892 save percentage in seven games with the Mavericks last season.
Prior to turning pro, Williams played three seasons at Minnesota State University - Mankato from 2012-15. He went 51-24-5 with a 2.01 goals-against-average and .917 save percentage in 82 career appearances.
The 6'3, 196-pound netminder was selected in the fourth round (#106 overall) by the Islanders in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Wallace, 32, returns to the Sound Tigers for his second stint with the team after playing 24 games with Bridgeport in 2011-12, while also serving as an alternate captain. He began this season with the Alaska Aces (ECHL) and registered 47 points (18 goals, 29 assists) in 63 contests.
A native of Anchorage, Ala., Wallace initially signed a two-year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on May 29, 2007 and went on to play 101 NHL games with the Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders, logging 13 points (four goals, nine assists) and 45 penalty minutes. He agreed to a one-year deal with the Islanders on July 21, 2011 and made 31 appearances with New York in 2011-12.
Wallace has spent the majority of his 11-year career in the AHL, where the veteran has 179 points (93 goals, 86 assists) and a plus-45 rating in 375 games. The 6'1, 205-pound forward has skated with the Sound Tigers, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Charlotte Checkers.
Prior to turning pro, Wallace played four seasons at the University of Notre Dame from 2002-06. He produced 59 points (24 goals, 34 assists) in 153 games with the Fighting Irish.
