WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Dec. 31, 2011) - Tyler McNeely recorded a goal and an assist and Kael Mouillierat netted his first AHL goal, but a four-goal second period from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins propelled them to a 4-2 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Saturday evening. The Penguins improve to 18-10-1-4 with the win. The Sound Tigers fall to 12-17-3-1.

After a scoreless first period, the Penguins jumped on the board 3:25 into the second period when Zach Sill beat Kevin Poulin for his fifth goal of the season. The Penguins doubled their lead immediately on the ensuing faceoff when Eric Tangradi scored on Poulin just six seconds later to give Wilkes-Barre/Scranton a 2-0 lead.

McNeely cut the Sound Tigers deficit in half when he took a feed from Rhett Rakhshani and put the puck past Penguins goaltender Scott Munroe for his third goal of the season at the 7:08 mark of the middle frame. However, Sill netted his second goal of the period at 15:34 to bring the Penguins lead back up to two. Bryan Lerg increased the Penguins advantage to three when he scored on a rebound with 29 seconds left in the middle frame to give his team a 4-1 lead heading to the third period.

Mouillierat netted his first career AHL goal midway through the third period when he took a feed from McNeely and beat Munroe to make the score 4-2 in favor of the Penguins, but that's as close as the Sound Tigers would get. Rhett Rakhshani recorded assists on both of the Sound Tigers goals.

The Sound Tigers return home on Monday, Jan. 2 when they host the Worcester Sharks at a special start time of 1:00 p.m.
