Griffins Call on McCollum

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday reassigned goaltender Tom McCollum from the ECHL's Toledo Walleye to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

McCollum, 22, posted a 4-3 record in seven games with the Griffins, along with a 3.17 goals against average and 0.896 save percentage before being reassigned to Toledo on Dec. 7. He currently holds a team-best three-game winning streak. The Sanborn, New York, native sits seventh in the ECHL with a 2.68 goals against average, while sporting a 5-6-1 record.

McCollum currently holds a team-best three-game winning streak, a mark he will look to extend tonight as he will start when the Griffins host the Milwaukee Admirals in their 15th annual New Years' Eve game at 6 p.m.
