IceCaps Release Shayne Wiebe

St. John's IceCaps News Release


The St. John's IceCaps announced today they have released center Shayne Wiebe from his standard player contract. Wiebe now plans to further pursue his education.

Wiebe, 21, has played in 12 games with the St. John's IceCaps this season registering four assists and two penalty minutes. The Brandon, MB native played five seasons in the Western Hockey League between the Kamloops Blazers and Brandon Wheat Kings. During his junior career, the left-handed center appeared in 276 games where he scored 197 points (108g, 89a) along with 287 penalty minutes.
