
Somerset Quiets Reading in Doubleheader

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Bryson Stott records his first (and second) Double-A hit Jorge Bonifacio hits his fourth home run of the season. Daniel Brito breaks up a no-hitter in game two. Francisco Morales retires the first six batters he faces.
Game 1:
- Top 1: Fightins strike first as Stott records his first Double-A hit, stolen base, and run scored as Matt Vierling bats him in.
- Bot 1: Somerset counters as Dermis Garcia sends one over the fence to score Diego Castillo.
- Bot 2: The Patriots tack on another three after Oliver Dunn's solo homer and Aaron Palensky's two-run bullet.
- Top 3: Bonfiacio rockets a solo shot to left center field
- Bot 3: Somerset adds two more here as Isiah Gilliam reaches on an error from Daniel Brito and Zack Zehner singles. A RBI double from Max Burt scores two.
-Lefty Ethan Lindow made it through two recording six hits and five runs. Jonathan Hennigan got the first ball out of the 'pen striking out four but allowing two runs, just one earned. Tyler Carr was clean in relief letting up just one hit and striking out four.
Game 2:
- Both starters retired the first six batters they face in order.
- Bot 3: Aaron Polensky walks and is sent home from a triple off the bat of Michael Beltre.
- Bot 4: Jason Lopez leads off the inning with a standup double. After both Zehner and Isiah Gilliam walk to load the bases, Dunn clears the bases with a double. Christian Perez is walked and both he and Dunn cross the plate off of Beltre's RBI single.
- Top 6: Brito smacks a line drive to left to record the Fightins first hit of the game. Stott follows with one of his own, but the Reading is not able to get a run across.
- Morales got the start and was hot right out of the gate. He worked hard to get out of the third but struggled to get an out in the fourth. Morales left after allowing three hits, three walks, and five runs. He completed his longest outing of 3.2 IP and tied his season high strikeout count of six. Zach Warren followed in relief letting up just one hit and one run albeit unearned. He struck out three and finished off the game by himself.
The Double-A affiliate of the Phillies will play next at FirstEnergy Stadium from June 8th-13th. The team will take on the Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies) at America's Classic Ballpark.
