Senators Staff Holds Dogs to Three Hits in Shutout

The Senators tossed their second shutout in 2021, beating Portland 3-0 Saturday night at FNB Field. Three Sens hurlers combined to limit the Sea Dogs to just three hits. Aldrem Corredor hit his first Double-A home run in the second inning to give the Sens a 1-0 lead.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Luis Reyes started and immediately allowed a leadoff double in the first inning before retiring the next 13 batters. He finished going five innings and allowing just two hits while striking out six. Reyes earned his second win in 2021.

Andrew Lee went three innings allowing a hit and striking out four.

Frankie Bartow pitched a perfect ninth inning for his sixth save.

WITH THE GAVEL

Aldrem Corredor hit a solo home run in the second giving the Senators all they would need.

Drew Mendoza drove in a run with a double in the fourth.

Carlos Tocci drove in Mendoza with a single in the fourth.

Jakson Reetz had two hits for a second straight game.

FILIBUSTERS

With a win Sunday the Senators have an opportunity to win their first series this season. The Sea Dogs were shut out for the first time in 2021. Portland has totaled just one run in the past two games. The attendance Saturday night was 3,864, the largest crowd at FNB Field thus far this season.

The Senators and Portland Sea Dogs play game six of their six-game series Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. Game time Sunday is 1:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 12:40 p.m.
