Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs won't be the only world-class athletes in the building this Sunday when they welcome 2008 Summer Olympics Pentathalete Sam Sacksen for a public appearance.

A 2004 graduate of Rockwood High School near Somerset, Sacksen made the trip to Beijing, China this summer to compete in the Olympics for the first time. He represented his country, and himself, magnificently by placing higher than any other American - 18th overall - in the Pentathalon. The modern Pentathalon is a competition consisting of five events: pistol shooting, epee fencing, 200-meter freestyle swimming, show jumping, and a three-kilometer cross country run.

Sacksen will be on hand to meet Chiefs fans and sign autographs prior to Sunday's game against the Elmira Jackals. He will be located in the Party Pit underneath section nine from 1:35 until the opening faceoff at 2:35.

Mark your calendars! The Chiefs are back on home ice on Sunday, March 22nd when they host the Elmira Jackals at 2:35 p.m. ET. Atlantic Broadband is sponsoring a kid's packet giveaway at the game, and it will be the final post-game skate with the Chiefs of the season. Good seats are available, but going quickly! Act fast and be sure to get your seat by calling 814-539-1799 or 814-536-5156.
