Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
ORLANDO, Florida - In what turned out to be another close affair, the Orlando Solar Bears (28-21-4-2) narrowly downed the Cincinnati Cyclones (26-24-1-5) by a 2-0 final score in front of 5,072 at Amway Center on Monday night.
Much like the last two meetings were this past week, Monday's game was a defensive duel as the teams remained scoreless through the first two periods despite some great opportunities. Cincinnati's Rob Madore (L, 28 saves, 11-13-1-4) and Orlando's Maxime Clermont (W, 29 saves, 7-5-0-1) were both again strong between the pipes to keep the game at a stalemate after 40 minutes.
The Solar Bears finally lit the lamp exactly one minute into the final period as Patrick Watling buried a rebound, back-hand style, over Madore's shoulder during an Orlando power play to make it 1-0. Unfortunately, it would turn out the be the game-winner as the Cyclones couldn't ultimately solve Clermont - who earned his first shutout of the season. The Solar Bears added an empty net goal from Brady Vail with just over one minute remaining to cap off a 2-0 victory for his team.
The Cyclones will be return to U.S. Bank Arena this Friday night when they welcome in the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:30pm! The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Cyclones Bobblehead featuring Twister! Call 513.421.PUCK to secure your seats and for more details.
