Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

THIS PAST WEEK:

About Last Thursday Night in Orlando: Despite a remarkable performance from goaltender Rob Madore, the Solar Bears got past the Cyclones in a shootout by a 3-2 final score in front of 4,509 at Amway Center. Madore made a season-high 53 saves in the tilt, the first time since the club returned to ECHL play in 2006 that a Cyclones goalie broke the 50-saves plateau during a regular season game.

About Last Wednesday Night in Estero: A pair of second period goals proved to be the difference as the Everblades got past the Cyclones by a 2-0 final score in front of 4,446 at Germain Arena. Rob Madore played strongly again, despite the defeat, making 28 saves.

About Last Tuesday Night in Orlando: Another tremendous defensive performance for the Cyclones and a 24-save shutout from Rob Madore helped them defeat the Solar Bears by a 3-0 final score in front of 5,272 at the Amway Center. It was the seventh time this season that Cincinnati has blanked an opponent.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT:

A Busy Week Ahead: The Cyclones open a four game week tonight as they close out their season-long road trip in Orlando with a 7:00pm puck drop at the Amway Center. After traveling back to Cincinnati, the same two teams will hook up for the final time in the 2014-15 campaign at U.S. Bank Arena this Friday night. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will take home a Cyclones Bobblehead featuring Twister courtesy of U.C. Health & Novacare. On Saturday night, the Fort Wayne Komets come to town on Superhero Night - where the Cyclones will don specialty jerseys that get auctioned off after the game. Then, on Sunday, the Cyclones will make their first trip into Fort Wayne to reunite with the North Division leaders at 5:00pm ET.

Record Setter for Madore: Last week, Cyclones goaltender Rob Madore accomplished something that no other Cincy backstop has since the team returned to ECHL play; he eclipsed the 50 save plateau last Thursday when he finished with 53 against the Solar Bears. Tonight he'll pass Chet Pickard for fourth on the club's all-time games played list (62).
