Orlando Solar Bears News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Tyler Currier and Lindsay Sparks and defenseman Myles Harvey for the 2015-16 season.
Currier, 27, and Sparks, 25, were both acquired by Orlando in an earlier offseason trade with the Missouri Mavericks on Aug. 6. Currier split the 2014-15 campaign between the Alaska Aces and Missouri, finishing the season with 16 points (8g-8a) and 89 penalty minutes in 52 games. Sparks potted 57 points (22g-35a) and 72 penalty minutes in 63 games between the Mavericks and Cincinnati Cyclones.
Harvey, 27, spent the 2014-15 season with the Utah Grizzlies, logging four assists and 17 penalty minutes in 26 matches. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound blueliner also played overseas in Norway for Stjernen, recording three points (2g-1a) and eight penalty minutes in seven games.
Harvey returns to the Solar Bears organization after making his professional debut with the team on Nov. 2, 2013 vs. Florida, in which he received a five-minute fighting major.
Harvey, an Orlando, Fla. native, played his youth hockey in Central Florida for the Jr. Lightning and Tampa Bay Raiders.
