Snappers Fall In Extra-Innings Duel To Chiefs on Beloit Health System Day
August 22, 2021 - Midwest League (MWL)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
A crowd of over 3000 joined the Snappers at ABC Supply Stadium on Sunday - many for the first time. Beloit Health System employees and family members were treated to more excellent weather, baseball, and fun.
The Snappers first would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the entire Beloit Health System along with all Medicare providers and healthcare workers. They have worked tirelessly to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and variants of the virus. The Snappers cannot thank everyone in the medical field enough for their efforts. Baseball could not have been played this season without you.
President/CEO of Beloit Health System Tim McKevett met families and employees at the main gate. The joy on his face could have filled the stadium as thousands of members joined the Snappers on Sunday. He also spoke during an inning break expressing his gratitude toward each and everyone in attendance.
Employees were honored on the video board during the game, and Beloit Health System got involved with the on field entertainment as well. They participated in the Snappy Chase, dance cams, and cheers with MC Brett. It was truly a special day for the Snappers and Beloit Health System.
After the game, over 100 kids ran the bases, and the outfield was full of families having a catch. A perfect way to end the day and the first half of the Snappers 12-game home stand.
The Beloit Snappers tied the game in the eighth inning with Peoria Chiefs, but gave up a two-run home run to Matt Chamberlain to lose 6-4 in 12 innings. George Soriano threw 5 1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts to tie his career high. Victor Victor Mesa collected a pair of hits, his second straight multi-hit game. Kameron Misner extended his on-base streak to 22 games.
The Snappers are back at ABC Supply Stadium on Tuesday against the Cedar Rapids. For more information on tickets or group outings, call our front office at 608.362.2272 or visit SnappersBaseball.com.
