Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Tyler Robertson only allowed two unearned runs off four hits but still claimed his fourth loss of the season. Robertson also added a season high, eleven strikeouts in the 2-0 loss to the Kane County Cougars.
Both Kane County starter Travis Banwart and Robertson made it through six innings without allowing a run.
Robertson entered the top of the seventh inning hoping to keep the momentum rolling.
Sean Doolittle reached on an error from first baseman Matt Betsill to start the inning off and was replaced by pinch runner Jermaine Mitchell. Mitchell then advanced to third on a Haas Pratt single to left. Alex Valdez followed Pratt with an RBI single off of Robertson to give the Cougars the lead.
Kane County would add one more run in the top of the seventh, putting the Snappers behind 2-0.
Beloit would proceed to go down in order in the bottom half of the seventh to lose the first game of the doubleheader, 2-0.
