BELOIT, WI - The Lansing Lugnuts (23-13) scored five runs in the top of the second in route to a 8-6 victory over the Beloit Snappers (13-17) Saturday afternoon at Pohlman Field before 408 fans.

The Snappers attempted a late rally, as they trailed 8-2 entering the 7th inning. Beloit scored three runs in the seventh and attempted a ninth inning rally, however, Trace Loehr popped out to the Lugnuts catcher to end the game.

Loehr arrived to the plate as the winning run, with two runs aboard in the final frame.

Beloit's three-run frame came in the seventh inning, as every batter took one at-bat in the inning.

Snappers starter Wyatt Marks lasted just 1.2 innings, due in large part to a 45 minute rain delay. Marks was tabbed with just his second loss of the season, as he surrenderd five runs on three hits while walking and striking out four batters.

The Snappers now hit the road for a four-game series in Appleton against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The series will begin Monday with right-hander Xavier Altamirano on the mound.

The Beloit Snappers are a member of the Midwest League and have been the Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics since 2013. For more ticket information, contact the Snappers office at (608) 362-2272 or on our website, www.snappersbaseball.com.
