Columbus Cottonmouths News Release
COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus Cottonmouths have announced that head coach Jerome Bechard has signed rookie forward Biff McNally to a professional contract.
McNally is joining the Cottonmouths after making the short drive from Ft Benning, Ga where he is better known as Captain McNally. An Infantry Officer, Captain McNally is currently a student at Ft Benning attending a Maneuver Captains Career Course.
"I feel very fortunate to have a player the caliber of Biff in the area. He can help out in a jam for us; he's a very smart player that will blend in to what we are doing. He went to school with Cpt. Ken Porter who played for us last season and is quite similar," said Coach Bechard.
A Ridgewood, NJ native, McNally played in the EJHL for the Apple Core team prior to playing hockey collegiately at West Point for the Army Black Knights. McNally is expected to fill the space vacated by Derek Pallardy. Pallardy is expected to be placed on the 30 day IR after suffering a concussion during a Dec 1st game against the Mississippi RiverKings.
McNally and the Cottonmouths will be taking the ice twice this weekend as they face the Louisiana Ice Gators on Saturday and the Huntsville Havoc on Sunday. Saturday night's game will be another Free Stuff Friday as the Cottonmouths will be giving away free youth jerseys to the first 1,000 children 12 and under to enter the arena. Gates open at 6:30pm so get here early to take advantage of this opportunity. Sunday's contest will feature the first Burger King Kids Day of the season. Starting at 4:00pm Sunday's game features youth tickets for only $2 per ticket in non-premium seating.
