
Smokies Drop Third Straight in 7-4 Loss

KODAK, TN- The Pensacola Blue Wahoos had full control of tonight's game from start to finish. The Blue Wahoos put up a three spot in the first inning and never looked back. Pensacola takes game three by a final of 7-4.
The Blue Wahoos plated three runs in the first inning when Troy Johnston singled to score Nasim Nunez and take a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Will Banfield smoked a two run homerun to extend the lead to 3-0. The Smokies responded quickly in the bottom of the first when Luis Vazquez doubled to score one run, followed by a BJ Murray single to make it a 3-2 game.
Pensacola broke the game open when Griffin Conine and Troy Johnston hit solo home runs to make it a 5-2 Pensacola lead. The Smokies scored a run on a walk, but then left the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth. The score after five innings was 6-3 Pensacola.
Pensacola added insurance in the top of the seventh when Cody Morissette hit a solo home run to straight away center field to make it 7-3. The Smokies scored another run in the seventh on the third double of the night by Luis Vazquez to make it 7-4. Pensacola closed out the game to win it and take the first three games of the six game series. Tomorrow is a double-header at Smokies stadium, with the first pitch of game one starting at 5:30 P.M.
