
Smokies Announce 2014 Schedule

KODAK, Tenn. - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Teams and the Tennessee Smokies, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announced today the release of the team's 2014 regular season schedule. The Smokies will begin the season on the road Thursday, April 3, against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and open at Smokies Park on Wednesday, April 9, against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
Tennessee will play the home finale against the Jacksonville Suns on Tuesday, August 26. The team will conclude the 2014 season on the road against the Chattanooga Lookouts on September 1.
The Smokies 2014 schedule features two 10-game homestands (in April and June) and one 10-game road trip in May.
The Smokies are scheduled to host two holiday games: June 15 vs. the Mississippi Braves on Father's Day and July 3 vs. the Montgomery Biscuits for the Fourth of July Celebration. Tennessee is scheduled to be in Jackson, Tenn. for Mother's Day (May 11) and Chattanooga, Tenn. for Labor Day (September 1).
